The Arc of the Farmington Valley provides a variety of unique and valuable programs to people with mental retardation or other developmental disabilities.   A grass roots organization, founded by parents, FAVARH's members have always valued the professional skills and advocacy oriented services offered by FAVARH, all focused on offering individuals with support, whether it be in the area of independent living skills, vocational skills or social development.   FAVARH participants and their families know and understand the significance of a locally and broadly based organization serving people with disabilities, because they help create the programming offered at FAVARH.

This dedication to excellence, however, requires significant funds for programs and new initiatives.  Government funding is declining, and private funding is more important than ever.
