FAVARH is a local chapter of the Arc, the world’s largest community
based organization for people with intellectual and developmental
disabilities. Together with the Arc of the United States, the Arc/CT,
and local Arc’s across the country, we advocate for the rights and full
participation of all children and adults with intellectual and
developmental disabilities. Together with our network of members
and affiliated chapters, we improve systems of supports and services;
connect families; inspire communities and influence public policy.
We also meet with parents, individuals, and groups to advise and
educate on the intricacies and complexities of the Connecticut
Service System. We have a network of professionals, consultants, and
colleagues around the state to assist families with the particular
challenges that they are facing.
