Donnaree Jackson, Assistant Manager

Donnaree Jackson began her journey with Favarh in 2013 as a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Day Program. Within a few months, she transitioned to a full-time role, working from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. As a single mother raising a gifted athlete, this schedule allowed Donnaree to balance her career while supporting her daughter’s demanding after-school activities as an All-Conference soccer player, a track and field standout, and travel soccer player. Donnaree takes great pride in her daughter’s achievements, including earning scholarships to three colleges, graduating with a Master’s Degree from American International College, and becoming an Art Teacher and a track coach at her former high school – doing what she loves. “My work at Favarh allowed me the flexibility to be a mom after school, and nurture her love of sports.”

Donnaree’s commitment and hard work on the job led her to the role of Assistant Manager within her Favarh Day Services program. Reflecting on her promotion, Donnaree shares, “It was a big adjustment moving into a management position because I truly enjoyed direct support work with the individuals.” One challenging aspect of transitioning from a DSP to an assistant manager was learning how to lead the staff, as well as transitioning to a new group of individuals in a different Day Program. “I was attached,” she admits. However, with time, she grew into her new role, supported by the encouragement of her co-workers and the confidence that upper management placed in her. She credits the strong teamwork among the staff for making her transition smoother.

What Donnaree appreciates most about her job is the personal and professional growth she has experienced. “Every day you learn something new – it’s a constant. Things change, and you have to change with them.” She also values the on-the-job training opportunities provided through Relias, which have helped her develop expertise in areas such as Dementia Care.

Donnaree is deeply grateful for the opportunities and support Favarh has provided to her and her family. We, in turn, are grateful for her long-standing dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our mission of helping each person achieve their personal best.
