Maureen Connolly, Manager, Day Program
Maureen Connolly’s journey to becoming a Manager of Favarh’s Day Program CD2 is a testament to her dedication and passion for helping others. Before joining Favarh in 2011, Maureen spent 25 years at Hamilton Sunstrand’s electronics division. However, a desire for a more fulfilling career prompted her to make a significant life change.
She returned to school at Tunxis Community College, where she earned an associate degree in human services. She also obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and began working with Connecticut Community Care, supporting clients in their homes.
Maureen’s career transformation didn’t stop there. She took her skills and compassion to Favarh, where she thrived first as a Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP), then as an Assistant Manager, and now as Manager. Reflecting on her role, Maureen says, “I love my job. It’s so rewarding. And our guys are just so caring. They appreciate you, and miss you when you’re gone.” To Maureen, the individuals she supports at Favarh are like family.
One of the aspects Maureen enjoys most about her job is the opportunity to engage with the community. Whether it’s discovering new places, participating in diverse activities, or meeting new people, Maureen is always eager to showcase what individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can accomplish. Her enthusiasm and dedication have not gone unnoticed. In fact, Maureen is the proud founder of the Community Cruisers group, a testament to her initiative and commitment to fostering community involvement.
Favarh is deeply grateful for Maureen’s ongoing years of service and the positive impact she has made on the Day Program participants. Her journey from a long career in electronics to a deeply rewarding role as a Day Program Manager at Favarh is truly inspiring. Maureen Connolly embodies the spirit of dedication, compassion, and the belief in the potential of every individual she supports. What an incredible achievement! ❤
