Michael Klymczuk, Head of Maintenence

Michael Klymczuk joined Favarh in November 2023 as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Favarh’s Employment Services, and he wasn’t even looking for a job. What he found at Favarh, however, was much more than employment—it was a source of meaningful days and fulfilling relationships. "When I first discovered Favarh and learned what people do here, I didn’t know a place like this existed," Michael says.

Today Mike can be found working alongside Favarh participants in any of the program locations as head of Favarh maintenance department. Every day is a different project to fulfill, and he finds the work both joyful and therapeutic.

Michael’s career journey has been diverse and adventurous. At just 18, he owned an antique business. More recently, both he and his wife worked at Benhaven School in Wallingford, where Michael served as a paraprofessional and his wife as a teacher marking his first experience working with people on the autism spectrum. Unfortunately, a job-related injury requiring multiple surgeries led him to leave Benhaven. Despite this setback, Michael missed the connection he had with the individuals he worked with. His role at Favarh, particularly working with the Favarh Thrift Shop crew, has rekindled his passion for this work. He maintains his relationships with the Favarh individuals he supported as a DSP, and nurtures new ones across the agency in his current role.

Michael and his wife, Steph welcomed the arrival of their first child Theo in 2024, which was a joyous occasion for everyone at Favarh. His Favarh story is a testament to finding unexpected fulfillment and joy in places you never knew existed.❤
